Welcome to Copperspur Kennel
The first memories I have of Miniature Pinschers are when I was very, very young. My parents had what I thought was “millions” of Min Pins in the back yard in Houston Texas, but actually I don’t think they had over 20 or 30 dogs including the puppies. My mom would work with the superintendent at the shows and my dad would handle the dogs. We had a min pin in the house for the longest time then after my dad died our heart just wasn’t in it.
When I got a divorce in 1988 I was kind at loose ends but was buying my own little house at the time. My mom ask me if I wanted to get a small dog for companionship and I said you bet. She had a friend that she traded Barbie Dolls with that had the cutest little Min Pin she said she had ever seen and she ask Denny where she got him. She said she had purchased him from Jude White in Keller Texas and his name was CH. Whitehouse's Julio Iglesias. My mom got her number and called and set up an appt. for us to come see what she had. When we got there I was in awe. I just sat there and looked at all of her little dogs and almost started crying. “I can remember saying “Mamma, look at all the Min Pins”. The only little dog she had available at the time was a little red male named Whitehouse's Cottoneyed Joe. I wanted him soooo bad but she said she really wanted him to go into a show home and my mom looked at me and said “Is there any reason you can’t do that?” I told her there wasn’t and the rest is history. Jude turned out to be my mentor, but also my best friend. Most of all my stock has originated from her line with some other good dogs thrown in there along the way. She sold me half interest in CH. Whitehouse's One Tough Cookie and most of my good bitches have come from her. CH. Copperspurs Sugar Cookie, CH. Copperspurs One Tough Twist, Copperspurs Cinnamon Girl, and most recently her granddaughter BISA, BISS, CH. Beall’s Ellie V Copperspur. I sold Sugar Cookie to Laurie Chism and she made her a top winning bitch which I will always be grateful for. Hopefully I will be able to carry on for a long time.
